CRYPTO

Storj, the distributed cloud storage platform entered it's beta this week. It allows users to rent out their unused drive space, in return for cryptocurrency micropayments, creating a massive decentralized backup system.

Zipline International have announced a partnership with the Rwandan government, using cargo drones to deliver medical supplies to areas that are difficult to reach.

VIRTUAL REALITY

iFixit released a cool new video teardown of the latest Oculus headset. Some interesting additions to this version, like the extra LEDs for tracking and a whole new lens and display system.

DRUGS

MIT researchers have developed a portable drug manufacturing machine that can create small batches of different drugs on-demand. It currently can synthesize four drugs, benadryl, lidocaine, valium and prozac, and can manufacture 1000 doses in 24 hours.

Imagine visiting your AI doctor in the future and receiving whatever drug you need on demand.

WAR

DARPA have developed an anti-submarine warship that can travel for thousands of miles, months at a time, without any crew members on board. Open water testing is planned for summer this year.

Soon there will literally be nowhere left on earth out of the reach of killer robots.
