The second, is a search and rescue drone deployed in the frozen landscape of Iceland. This M200 model has a thermal imaging camera, and bigger batteries, allowing for 30 mins of flight time, which is crucial when searching for lost individuals.

In other drone news, UPS recently began testing drone deliveries in Tampa Florida. The interesting thing here is how the drones work alongside the vans and delivery drivers. Testing is still ongoing before rollout.

VIRTUAL REALITY

Back to plain old virtual reality, Jonathan Ravasz has created an open source virtural keyboard called Punchkeyboard. The 3D keys combine with word prediction, to create what seems to be a fairly fast way to type in VR. All the code is avaialable on github.
